A story ripped from its song, turned into a poem, and then married to a tune borrowed from yet another song — what a tangled web!
Collaborating artist Emily Curtin Culler, soprano, will premiere a new collection of Irish songs and join us in other traditional works specially arranged for this concert.
In her latest work, “Sky Dance”, Laura composed both the music and the lyrics, arranging for flute, clarinet, ukulele, guitar, harp, and a very special mother-daughter vocal duet.
The suite is arranged for flute, clarinet, & harp, and contains three distinct movements. “I wanted each to capture a different mood or scene you might expect to find during a céilidh—the Scottish-Gaelic word for a party with singing, dancing, and storytelling,” Jason explains.
