Album Highlights

Recorded live with expert engineering by Michael Culler, our latest album guarantees you’ll always have the best seat in the house!

Trí Amhráin as Éirinn – (2018) Three traditional Irish songs re-imagined for wind quintet and soprano, sung in their original Irish Gaelic by Emily Curtin Culler. Thugamar Féin an Samhradh Linn heralds the arrival of summer with the Bealtaine parade of the mummers. Seothín Seo Hó is a lilting lullaby sung as a mother swaddles her child and warns of the fairies who wait to steal the child away if he doesn’t close his eyes soon. Beidh Aonach Amárach is a musical battle of wills between mother and daughter. Read more about it in our Manitou-Zine. See the complete lyrics and translations here.

Willow Song (Baint Áirnidhe faoi Ghílúr na gCraobh) – (2019) Jason combed a book of historic Irish tunes to uncover the history behind this melancholy but soothing melody and then brought it to life again in a new composition for clarinet, guitar, and harp. Read more about it in our Manitou-Zine.

Happy Feet – (2019) Laura composed this toe-tapping tune as a follow-up to her mellow Summer Waltz which was featured on our first album (First Flight). Follow in the footsteps of a child dancing an impromptu reel fueled by runs and turns by flute, clarinet, guitar, and harp. Read more about it in our Manitou-Zine.

The Goodman o’ Wastness – Jan performs a traditional Orkney legend, transporting us to those rugged island shores for a chance encounter with the mysterious Selkie folk in a bittersweet tale of unrequited love.

O’Carolan’s Symphony – (2018) Jason re-imagined four classic tunes by Ireland’s most famous composer, Turlough O’Carolan, expanding and arranging them for flute, clarinet, horn, bassoon, and harp. Each movement takes us to a different home in the heart of the Emerald Isle. Read more about it in our Manitou-Zine.
